In helping with research for a pro-life book on abortion, I was stunned to learn that in most states, rapists retain their parental rights. When a rapist learns his victim is pregnant, he can pressure her into aborting the DNA evidence against him –the baby — by threatening to become a permanent presence in her life as the baby’s father. We need laws to automatically terminate a rapist’s parental rights as soon as he is convicted.
Terminating a rapist’s parental rights–is that ever a commonsense idea!
