Hello, I was wondering what you thought of this new study which shows that abortion liberalization did not affect fertility decline? https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10680-023-09687-y
Thank you for calling that to our attention. I can’s say I’m surprised. Most women who have an abortion will try to make up for the lost child with a later delivery. Some even report wanting more children to “fill the void.”
Do you have information or know where I can find information on 1.) the number of women who choose abortion because a previous pregnancy caused severe morning sickness and/or serious post partum depression; and 2.) what is the best way to address those concerns to encourage continuation of the pregnancy. Pregnancy centers have been asking us, Vitae Foundation, for any research that we or others may have conducted regarding these concerns.
We don’t know of any studies specifically identifying how often those concerns contribute to a decision to abort.
The October issue of Scientific American magazine , page 8, says there are studies saying that women who are refused abortions have worse health than those given them. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/on-election-day-vote-for-candidates-with-science-based-policies-not-politicians-who-ignore-evidence/ Could you write them about your studies, please
We submitted a response but they refused to publish it. We’re trying to get the word out elsewhere!
Hi,
I recently posted a lighthearted Pro-life article titled, “Pie Theory – When It Comes To Pie, People Are Naturally Pro-Dessert” and thought you would enjoy the short read. Please share if desired.
The Substack link is: https://brianjay.substack.com/p/pie-theory?sd=pf
Than you!

Thanks!
Hi there,
I came across your website today. Thank you for the work you are doing.
I work with men who have lost fatherhood to abortion and would love to connect sometime. Men are often forgotten in the abortion conversation…especially in the after-abortion healing conversation.
I have a novel in print “Almost Daddy: The Forgotten Story” that follows a man after an abortion experience and also “Almost Daddy: A Men’s Guide to Healing After Abortion”, which is a small group recovery guide based on the 12 steps.
Would love to connect.
I am going to write a free article against abortion. I read in Randy Alcorn’s book, Pro-life answers to Prochoice Arguments, that 30% of women who have an abortion have pain in their genitals for the rest of their lives. I wanted to find the source because it makes the writing more persuasive. But I was not able to get that information from Alcorn. Do you know of any source of this? Also what percentage develop anxiety and for how long?
Thank you for your web site.
I’ve never seen any data to support that claim. Regarding other data points, the most complete and current review of the literature is “The abortion and mental health controversy: A comprehensive literature review of common ground agreements, disagreements, actionable recommendations, and research opportunities.”
Thank you for the work you do. I just wanted to let you know about our upcoming Pro-Life Democrat Convention on July 30 and 31. Now that both houses of Congress are controlled by the main Democratic Party, which supports legal abortion; and our President, in opposition to the Catholic Church he professes to be a member of, also supports legal abortion; and the Republican Party, which proclaims to be Pro-Life, is weak in California and is the minority party in Washington; so who is left to politically defend the unborn? We, Democrats-for-Life, are planning a Convention at Loyola-Marymount University, Los Angeles. We need speakers, donors, sponsors, volunteers, as well as attendants. Abortion shouldn’t even be on any party’s platform where “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” are the guiding principles America is founded on! Please spread the word about what we want to do and let me know who is interested in helping us. Democrats-for-Life is a national organization but the California chapter is very loosely organized. Technically we want to be accessible through the internet. A lot depends on the Covid-19 situation in July. We want to join other Democrats and Pro-Life voters across the country who do not want abortion in our party platform. Please keep us in your prayers.
Hello, recently I was told that abortions were not performed in the late term. I did not believe that. Could you tell me how many abortions in the US are performed in each of the trimesters. Thank you Donna
The following answer isn’t precise, but is an easy to remember approximation.
Roughly 10% of abortions occur after the first 12 weeks (the first trimester). About 10% of those (1% of the total) occur in the third trimester. That’s 90% in the first trimester, 9% in the second trimester and 1% in the third trimester.
David,
I am reading your article, “Abortion Decisions and the Duty to Screen” and it is amazing. I work at a pregnancy resource center in Woodbury, MN and want to thank you for your work.
Sincerely,
Sarah
Thanks, Sara. I wanted to call your attention to this risk assessment form that might help any abortion minded clients your center sees to assess their own risks.
I’m re-reading Ann McIlhinney’s book about Kermit Gosnell. Have you done any research into why women tolerate substandard, nasty abortion clinics?
Sorry. No, we don’t have any specific information relative to “standard” versus “substandard” abortion providers.
