Caught on Tape: Planned Parenthood Trafficking in Body Parts From Aborted Babies

The Center for Medical Progress has released a video showing a top Planned Parenthood official discussing how the organization is illegally trafficking body parts from aborted babies.

Dr. Deborah Nucatola is the Senior Director of Medical Services at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She was filmed at a lunch meeting with two undercover investigators posing as buyers looking to purchase fetal tissue.

In the video, Nucatola states that Planned Parenthood charges buyers a per-specimen price for organs and tissues from aborted babies, which would clearly seem to be organ selling.

Further, she describes the procedures (including illegal partial birth or D&X abortions) used to obtain the body parts intact, and how she and other abortionists decide what techniques to use based not on what is safest for the mother, but how they can best obtain body parts to sell. From the transcript (p. 38) of the video:

I had 8 cases yesterday. And I knew exactly what we needed, and I kinda looked at the list and said okay, this 17-weeker has 8 lams [laminaria], and this one—so I knew which were the cases that were probably more likely to yield what we needed, and I made my decisions according to that too, so it’s worth having a huddle at the beginning of the day, and that’s what I do. ..

Also in the transcript (p. 11), she says:

And with the calvarium [fetal head], in general, some people will actually try to change the presentation so that it’s not vertex [head down], because when it’s vertex presentation, you never have enough dilation at the beginning of the case,
unless you have real, huge amount of dilation to deliver an intact calvarium. So if you do it starting from the breech presentation, there’s dilation that happens as the case goes on, and often, the last, you can evacuate an intact calvarium at the end. So I mean there are certainly steps that can be taken to try to ensure—

Buyer: So they can convert to breach, for example, at the start of the —

PP: Exactly, exactly. Under ultrasound guidance, they can just change the presentation.
