Mother's Day Outreach Reached Many
People from around the world participated in the Elliot Institute’s 2011 Mother’s Day Outreach. From prayer partners to preachers to shared ads, cards, flyers and bookmarks, seeds were planted and lives were saved … sometimes, two at a time.
Compassionate, evidence-based materials included new evidence about unwanted abortions and abortion’s dual assault on the rights of both babies and moms, while extending compassion and opening the door to healing.
The materials and links told “the rest of the story,” from “pre-abortion” injustices, including unwanted, coerced or forced abortions and maternal abuse, discrimination and homicides … to “post-abortion” heartbreak and further risks, including maternal deaths or families grieving not one, but two losses.
High school and university students took part in this event, as did moms and dads, sisters and brothers, aunts, uncles, grandmas and grand-dads. Advocates and leaders in religious and civic arenas helped spread the word, too.
From San Francisco to South Africa, from Houston to Harrisburg, Melbourne to Mobile, New Zealand, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Ireland and beyond, … seeds of truth, hope, light and life were planted and will bear fruit now and for years to come.
