Hosting “An Afternoon of Prayerful Remembrance”

Theresa Bonopartis of Lumina post-abortion healing ministry, along with the Sisters of Life, has developed a prayer service that reminds us that abortion not only effects that mothers and fathers of unborn children, but everyone in our nation. Called “An Afternoon of Prayerful Remembrance,” it involves short testimonies of many key people regarding their roles in abortion and is a safe place to mourn and pray together without anyone knowing if any of the participants have been involved in an abortion or not.

This is a service where everyone can participate in prayer, remembrance and reparation regarding abortion, no matter what their role.

Over the last eight years, an ”Afternoon of Prayerful Remembrance” has been held at various locations including the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington , DC and at St. Patrick’s cathedral in NY. On Saturday, January 15th, 2011, it will be televised live, from 9:00am – 12:00pm, by EWTN from St Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.

Hosting A Prayer Service

In addition to the event in New York, it is hoped that other churches, parishes and dioceses throughout the nation, and in another parts of the world, will host this prayer service in their own churches. Although the prayer service is Catholic in format, it can be adapted to the needs of other churches.

For information on how to conduct or host the service, contact Theresa Bonopartis at Lumina/Help After Abortion. She can be reached at (877) 586-4621 or lumina@postabortionhelp.org.
