New Help & Healing Resources Available

Here are healing and support resource guides that your church, pro-life ministry, youth ministry, or other group should have on hand. This information can be used to help women, men, teens and families who are facing an unplanned pregnancy or abortion (including coerced and unwanted abortions) or those who are struggling because their lives have been impacted by abortion.

Help and Healing Guide
A guide to finding help if you or someone you know is pregnant, facing an abortion or struggling with a past abortion. It includes information on the kinds of help available, how to find the resources that are best for you, and a list of organizations that offer counseling, practical and emotional support and legal resources. Churches and ministries should keep this guide on hand to give to those who are pregnant and need help, considering or being coerced to abort, or has been involved in an abortion. Includes a list of help for women, men and families. Download the guide here, and feel free to print, copy and share it.

How to Help Someone Who’s Had An Abortion
Many people struggle with finding the right words to say to someone who is hurting after abortion. Here’s a guide to help you know how to reach out, and what to say — and not say — when you are talking to someone in this situation. Download this guide here, and feel free to print, copy and share it.

Resources from the Center Against Forced Abortion
Pregnant teens and women in your church or community face unwanted, coerced and forced abortion. The Center Against Forced Abortion (CAFA), a project of the Justice Foundation, provides legal help to mothers and helps them exercise their right to continue the pregnancy. CAFA provides legal assistance and training for pregnancy centers and other ministries, and documents to help enforce the rights of the mother to have her child.

These include a letter to the teen or woman being coerced informing her of her rights, a letter to the parents of minors outlining the rights of their teenage daughter, and a legal form that can be used to let abortionists know that a client is a victim of forced abortion and that the clinic can face legal penalties for performing the abortion. Churches, pregnancy centers, youth ministries, pro-life groups, counselors and other ministries should keep copies of these letters on hand, along with contact information for CAFA. Download these resources on the CAFA web site. For more information, contact CAFA at (210) 614-7157 or info@txjf.org.

We are making these guides and our other materials available to you free or charge, so that more people can access them. However, we need your help for this work to continue! Please donate to support the Elliot Institute today!
